Sundhöll Reykjavík Pool's sunbathing decks reopen
The west sunbathing deck at Sundhöll Reykjavík Pool reopens tomorrow, Wednesday, May 20, at noon.
The west deck has been closed since 2024. The east deck will reopen following a brief closure for scheduled maintenance in June.
Crews have completed maintenance and improvements on the decks to enhance safety and the overall visitor experience. The facilities have undergone thorough inspections and updates to provide a comfortable, safe environment for pool visitors.
"We're eager to welcome guests back to the decks and hope the weather cooperates for pool visitors this summer," says Snorri Örn Arnaldsson, director of Sundhöll Reykjavík Pool.
The decks will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Previously divided into separate sections for men and women, the decks will now be open to all genders.
Visitors must use towels on sunbathing benches and follow all standard safety and conduct rules on the decks, just as they do throughout Reykjavík's swimming pools.
