Biodiversity actions in Consultation Portal

A draft new action plan for biodiversity in Reykjavík for 2026-2030 is now available in the City's Consultation Portal. The plan carries out the City's current biodiversity policy. Reykjavík City residents, organizations and institutions can share their opinions, proposals, suggestions and views on the draft.

The action plan carries out the goals of Reykjavík City's current biodiversity policy. It includes six main goals:

  • research,
  • protecting and strengthening habitats in the city,
  • working against major threats to biodiversity,
  • educating residents about the issue,
  • considering biodiversity in all of Reykjavík's operations and
  • making the City a leader in this area.

The action plan is structured around these main goals.
