Vesturbær swimming pool - children's pool and main pool reopens
The children's pool and main pool at Vesturbær swimming pool, which had to close temporarily due to peeling paint, will reopen tomorrow morning, weather permitting.
The pools had to close temporarily because paint kept peeling after extensive maintenance this summer intended to improve guest facilities and upgrade older structures.
The pool basins were pressure washed to remove loose paint, and samples were taken to determine what's causing the peeling. The affected areas were then patched with new paint.
This is a temporary repair, which is expected to hold until summer when a permanent solution can be implemented.
