Vesturbæjarlaug pool reopens July 19
Extensive maintenance work has been underway at Vesturbæjarlaug this summer. We originally planned a specific timeframe for the closure, but when working on improvements to older structures, unexpected issues can arise that affect a project's timeline.
The pool was scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, July 15, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the maintenance closure will be extended by four days. Vesturbæjarlaug will now reopen on Saturday, July 19, at 9am.
Anna Kristín Sigurðardóttir, director of Vesturbæjarlaug, says that with repairs of this nature, there is always a possibility of unexpected issues causing delays, but her team is now making every effort to complete the work on schedule. “We sincerely thank you for your understanding and patience. We are just four days away from reopening and we look forward to welcoming you back on July 19. Vesturbæjarlaug will be like new," says Anna Kristín.
