Vesturbæjarlaug faces temporary partial closure due to peeling paint
In consultation with the public health authority, Reykjavík City has decided to temporarily close the main pool at Vesturbæjarlaug to address the peeling paint.
The City conducted extensive maintenance at the pool this summer to improve guest facilities and renovate older structures. Shortly after the pool reopened, paint began to peel from its floor. The pool was then closed again for repairs.
Unfortunately, this work was not successful, making it necessary to close the main pool once more. It is uncertain how long this closure will last.
The hot tubs, steam room, and changing rooms will remain open while the issue is being addressed.
