In April, the City Council approved special funding to hire 17-year-olds for summer jobs to better serve this age group.

100 diverse jobs

These 100 positions offer diverse opportunities, including working with children, seniors and maintaining city land.

The City Council also designated a portion of these 100 jobs specifically for 17-year-olds in vulnerable situations, with the goal of supporting their entry into the workforce.

Summer jobs waitlist

17-year-olds who haven't yet applied for a summer job but are interested are encouraged to review the positions currently being advertised. They can also apply to be placed on the summer jobs waitlist. The waitlist is open to all individuals with legal residence in Reykjavík.

If positions cannot be filled with applicants who applied by the deadline, candidates from the waitlist will be considered. Applicants should answer questions about their preferred work locations and job types.

Please note that registering on the waitlist does not guarantee a job offer.

Summer jobs in the city

Reykjavík City advertised summer jobs in February and would like to remind everyone that applications are still being accepted.
