Rules on resident parking permits in Reykjavík
Residents and other stakeholders can now submit suggestions on the draft regulations for resident parking permits in Reykjavík.
The current rules on resident parking permits in Reykjavík were approved by the Planning & Transportation Council and City Executive Council in 2021.
At the Environment & Planning Council meeting on June 25, the public was given approval to submit comments or suggestions on the proposed rules for resident parking permits in Reykjavík. The proposal is now available on Reykjavík's Consultation Portal.
When developing the proposal, suggestions that Reykjavík City and the parking fund received from residents were considered, and its goal is to create increased flexibility for Reykjavík residents.
Reykjavík residents and other stakeholders are encouraged to submit suggestions on the accompanying draft of updated rules for resident parking permits in Reykjavík. To simplify processing, we ask that when submitting suggestions regarding specific articles, you reference the relevant article in the procedural regulations and, where applicable, include proposals for text additions or changes.
The Environment & Planning Council will then make the final decision on the regulations for resident parking permits in Reykjavík.
