Record attendance at Museum Night 2025

The Forward dance group performed at Reykjavík Art Museum during Museum Night

This year's Museum Night drew nearly 20,000 visitors to events at more than 40 museums across the capital area, making it an exceptional success.

Museum Night aims to showcase the capital area's cultural institutions while giving visitors a fresh perspective on museums through free admission.

The evening highlighted unique events including new exhibit openings, guided tours, dance performances, musical entertainment and hands-on craft workshops suitable for all ages.

Museum staff reported strong success, noting a significant increase in youth attendance compared to typical events.
