Open parent meeting during Child Prosperity Week in Reykjavík

Reykjavík City launched Child Prosperity Week today across all districts. Running through Friday, February 14, the week features diverse programming for both parents and staff working in schools, recreation programs and Reykjavík City centers.

The initiative aims to showcase how Reykjavík is implementing the Child Prosperity Act. Activities include presentations, workshops and educational sessions. Public events will be held citywide, while individual schools, recreation centers and city facilities will host their own programs.

The right help at the right time from the right providers

The Child Prosperity Act ensures children and parents can easily access needed services and receive appropriate support at the right time from qualified providers. Child Prosperity Week primarily aims to help parents understand these services and learn how their families can benefit from them.

Three Reykjavík parents contributed to Child Prosperity Week by sharing their experiences with the services. All three reported significant benefits from the coordinated services their children received under the new Act. Viktor Sveinsson is one of the parents sharing his son's story. His interview is available to watch below.
