Mayor's Neighborhood Days begin in Vesturbær
Mayor Heiða Björg Hilmisdóttir kicked off Neighborhood Days at Hotel Saga this morning, where she'll be based for the week.
During Neighborhood Days, the mayor will visit Hagaskóli and Vesturbæjarskóli to meet with students and teachers. Heiða Björg will also visit the Grund nursing home and the Aflagrandi community center.
She will also visit Vesturbæjarlaug, the pool in the heart of the neighborhood, where she'll join a Zumba class and chat with locals in the hot tubs.
On Wednesday, Oct. 15, the mayor will host coffee and conversation at the Maritime Museum at Grandi, where residents can discuss local issues with her and senior city officials.
Mayor Heiða Björg will wrap up Neighborhood Days on Friday, Oct. 17, with visits to businesses at Grandi, including a stop at the Iceland Ocean Cluster.
