Informational meeting about the Transportation Charter

An open informational meeting about the Transportation Charter will be held Wednesday, May 21 at 5pm in Tjarnarsalur at Reykjavík City Hall.

The meeting will cover the status and progress of major projects under the charter, which aims to improve and strengthen transportation in the capital area.

The meeting is hosted by Transport for the Capital Area, the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration and Reykjavík City. Reykjavík residents are encouraged to attend and learn about the development and preparation of trunk road projects, CityLine and bicycle and walking paths.

Shared vision for the future

The state and six municipalities in the capital area are behind the capital area Transportation Charter for ambitious development of transportation infrastructure and public transit in the capital area through 2040. The charter represents a shared vision and comprehensive approach for the planning area. The goal is to increase safety, improve transportation for all modes of travel and reduce delays, significantly strengthen public transit and reduce pollution from suspended particulates and greenhouse gas emissions.
