Hitt Húsið Youth Center, Lyngheimar Preschool and Sigyn Youth Center recognized for excellence
Lyngheimar Preschool, Sigyn Youth Center and Hitt Húsið Youth Center were named Reykjavík City's Exemplary Workplaces 2024 at an awards ceremony yesterday. The title is awarded to workplaces that demonstrate exceptional performance in key areas, based on employee evaluations.
Achieved outstanding results in human resource management
The Institution of the Year award recognizes workplaces that demonstrate exceptional achievement in human resource management. The survey enables managers to evaluate their workplace performance in areas including leadership, work culture, compensation, working conditions, flexibility, job autonomy, institutional reputation, employee satisfaction and pride, and equality. This assessment provides accountability and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Institution of the Year is a joint initiative between Sameyki, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, Reykjavík City and numerous other organizations, encompassing approximately 35,000 public sector employees.
Sigyn captures top honors for second straight year
Five exemplary workplaces were selected in the small workplace category. Sigyn Youth Center won the category, defending its 2023 title. Frostheimar after-school program finished second, followed by Fjörgyn Youth Center in third, Selið after-school program in fourth (down from second last year), and 105 Youth Center in fifth.
Lyngheimar Preschool tops medium-sized workplace category
Lyngheimar Preschool claimed first place in the medium-sized workplace category. Gullborg Preschool rose from fifth to second place. Online Center held steady in third place for the second consecutive year. Álftaborg Preschool moved to fourth place after finishing second last year. The Stjörnugróf apartment complex climbed to fifth place from ninth last year.
Hitt Húsið Youth Center maintains excellence
Hitt Húsið Youth Center won the large workplace category after winning the medium-sized category last year. Four additional workplaces were recognized for excellence: Rauðhóll Preschool (up from 12th), Háteigsskóli (down from fifth), Álftamýrarskóli (down from second), and Sæmundarskóli (up from sixth).
