Gunnlaugur at Gleðibankinn has positively impacted hundreds of teens
Gunnlaugur Víðir Guðmundsson, director of the Gleðibankinn youth center at Hlíðaskóli, received the Inspiration Award on Anti-Bullying Day for his exemplary work in bullying prevention.
Unanimous decision by selection committee
The selection committee from the Center for Education and School Service and Home and School chose the award recipient from numerous nominations, and its decision was unanimous. The award ceremony took place before a packed house at Laugarvatn Junior College (Menntaskólinn að Laugarvatni), where the school choir performed several songs. Páll Óskar and Benni Hemm Hemm also performed their heartfelt song "Eitt af blómunum" (One of the flowers), which perfectly suited the occasion.
