Reykjavík City service fees are generally expected to rise by an average of 3.5% at the turn of the year.

Reykjavík City's fee schedules reflect budget assumptions about rising prices and wage trends for 2026. The Department of Finance & Risk Management has determined that to maintain the purchasing power of fee schedules and ensure residents' share of costs remains stable, fees must be adjusted for accumulated inflation by at least 3.5% beginning Jan. 1, 2026.

Service fee schedules are projected to increase by an average of 3.5%. This means the price increase for total fee revenue in each department will average about 3.5%, though individual fee items may increase more or less. Department of Environment and Planning fees will continue to reflect actual costs.
