Development of a multi-use building at Veðurstofuhæð
Building rights. Preparations for the exciting development at Veðurstofuhæð have gained substantial momentum, with plans for approximately 200 housing units in an environmentally sustainable setting. The neighborhood plan includes a multi-use facility with parking and space for retail and services. Reykjavík City is seeking a partner to design, construct and operate this multi-use facility.
An informational meeting will be held next Monday for interested parties. Following the meeting, Reykjavík City will request purchase offers for the building rights for the multi-use facility on the lot. This will not follow the traditional allocation process for building rights. Instead, the city will also seek proposals that outline planned operations for the site, estimated building volume, design quality, business and operational models, project team composition, and other factors that will help evaluate the most promising future developments.
The multi-use facility at Veðurstofuhæð will be situated on the perimeter of the new neighborhood.
