Culture Night is a family celebration

A press conference was held at Ingólfstorg in pleasant weather this morning to introduce the Culture Night program and review safety and accessibility procedures.

Mayor Heiða Björg Hilmisdóttir outlined the main features of the celebration. Representatives from the police and fire departments, the public transit authority, prevention organizations, and recreation centers were on hand to review safety and accessibility procedures.

The Culture Night program will be shorter this year, beginning at 12:30pm at the National Theatre and ending at 10:00pm. This change underscores that this is a family celebration where the emphasis is on families enjoying the city center and then returning home together.

A moment of remembrance at Arnarhóll

At the end of the RÚV concert at Arnarhóll, there will be one minute of silence to remember Bryndís Klara Birgisdóttir. Following the commemoration, there will be a fireworks display dedicated to Bryndís Klara and all young people who have experienced violence.
