Construction at Höfðabakkabrú
Construction at Bæjarháls has progressed well in recent weeks, and work at Höfðabakkabrú starts tonight. Work is scheduled during the lightest traffic periods.
The contractor will begin surfacing the walking paths and installing conduits for street and traffic lights on the existing traffic islands. Expect traffic delays due to this work.
Walking paths at Bæjarháls will be temporarily closed to complete utility work. The closure starts tomorrow and will last for two to three weeks. Pedestrians will be detoured via either the underpass at Árbær Open Air Museum (west of the work area) or through the Bitruháls/Hraunbær area (to the east).
