City workplaces reopen

Weather conditions in Reykjavík have improved, and officials have lifted the red alert. City operations are returning to normal, with most municipal facilities reopening.

School and recreational activities experienced disruptions today. After-school programs have resumed operations. Preschools have also reopened, except where previously scheduled professional development days are taking place.

Department of Welfare facilities that closed due to the weather have reopened, including welfare centers, the Reykjavík Child Protection Services office, and adult community centers. The Þorrasel and Esjutún day care centers remain closed today.

All Department of Culture & Sports facilities were closed. Their reopening schedule is as follows:

Árbær Open Air Museum: Closed today.

Ski areas in Reykjavík and Bláfjöll Mountains: Closed today.
