Cheese recall due to suspected listeria
Aðföng, after consulting with Reykjavík Public Health, has stopped sales and recalled Duc de Loire and Royal Faucon Camembert cheeses from consumers.
Reason for recall
The cheeses are suspected of being contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.
What is the risk?
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious foodborne illness known as listeriosis, especially in older adults, pregnant women, newborns and people with compromised immune systems. More information about Listeria monocytogenes is available on the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority website.
