Biking has increased during the good weather over the past few days.
Many people have taken advantage of the good weather to go biking.

Good weather over the past few days has resulted in increased bike traffic in Reykjavík. According to the city's bike counters, last week set a record for the number of cyclists, coinciding with the nationwide Bike to Work campaign.

The highest biking activity occurred on Tuesday, May 13, when counters recorded 16,893 trips total, making it the busiest day of the year so far. The year's previous record was set just one week earlier on May 3, with 10,925 trips.

The number of cyclists during the week was as follows:

Monday, May 12: 11,258

Tuesday, May 13: 16,893

Wednesday, May 14: 14,989

Thursday, May 15: 11,622

Friday, May 16, is expected to show similar numbers as the beautiful weather continues.

The pleasant weather has clearly energized cyclists and strongly supports the Bike to Work campaign's goal of encouraging people to choose biking as an active form of transportation. Reykjavík City encourages residents to bike safely in the good weather and enjoy the city on two wheels.
