Since 2020, Strætó Public Transport has renovated 70 bus stops in Reykjavík to make them more accessible for everyone. This year, designs will be developed for 148 bus stops, with construction starting on at least 25 locations.

The exact number of stops to be renovated will depend on the project scope and design costs. Having completed designs ready in advance streamlines the renovation process. The bus stop renovation project is scheduled for completion within the next two to three years.
