Fee changes on January 1, 2025

Reykjavík City fees reflect budget assumptions about price increases in 2024. The Department of Finance & Risk Management finds it necessary to adjust fees for accrued inflation by at least 3.5% to maintain purchasing power and residents' cost share.

For years, Reykjavík City has ensured favorable fees for families and children's services, leading among municipalities in this regard. The City aims to remain the most affordable for families, considering service fees.

Service fees are expected to increase by an average of 3.5%. This means the price increase for total fee revenue in each department will average about 3.5%, though individual fee items may increase more or less. Department of Environment and Planning fees will continue to reflect actual costs.
