A new digital brochure compiles information about the services and support that Reykjavík City provides to older adults. It also explains how to access these services.
This brochure includes information about the diverse social activities available in Reykjavík. The City operates 17 community centers that offer various social activities, exercise, and companionship, plus hot meals at lunchtime. The brochure contains a list of the community centers.
Older adults can receive various services at home, including home support or home nursing. People who cannot cook for themselves and are unable to visit community centers for meals can receive food delivery.
Many new innovations in services for older adults are now available, including virtual visits, medication dispensers and home-based rehabilitation. The brochure covers all of this information.
The guide also covers day care in Reykjavík, which older adults who live at home but have difficulty accessing community center activities might find helpful. It also includes information about assisted living apartments and nursing homes.

The Department of Welfare created the brochure in collaboration with Reykjavík City's Elderly Affairs Council, which advises the City Council, committees, and boards on issues affecting older adults.
