Reykjavík City is looking to rent properties to be used as preschools in the Vesturbær, Miðborg, Hlíðar, and Háaleiti and Bústaðir districts.
Long-term rental request
We are searching for spaces that measure between 600–2000 square meters and adjacent outdoor play areas of 1200–8000 square meters for long-term rental. The lease should be suitable for a 3–15-year period with the possibility of extension. The property should be fully equipped for use but without any loose furniture. Accessibility for all is a requirement.

All inquiries regarding the project should be sent electronically through Reykjavík City's tender system, where the responses will also be posted. The deadline for queries is 12 noon on November 28, 2022, and answer deadline is until 12 noon on December 2, 2022.
Rental bids must be submitted digitally in the tender system, no later than 10am on December 9, 2022.
The documents that must accompany the offer need to include the following details:
- The delivery time of the property
- The property's location, size, and age
- Preliminary designs such as a basic map and appearance in 1:200 and a site plan in 1:500
- Information about plot size and how the property is accessible from the grounds and outdoor play area
- The number of parking spaces, access to the grounds and building
- Rental price per/m2 of the private property and total rental price
- HOA fees
- Current zoning plan for the area, including the plot and adjacent plots
- Reference to the applicable municipal plan
The right is reserved to request a building inspection report from an independent party about the general condition of the property, especially that it is free from moisture damage. This must be done before signing a lease agreement.
