Power of attorney for My Pages

Reykjavík City uses the Ísland.is power of attorney system, so you must register authorizations there — learn more about Ísland.is power of attorney

This authorization grants access to all data held by institutions using the Ísland.is power of attorney system.

This includes the Ísland.is digital mailbox and information related to health, assets, finances, and family relationships held by Registers Iceland, among other records.
 

It also allows your designated representative to submit applications on your behalf to authorities using the power of attorney system — for example, for transportation service, meal ordering, and other services.

Power of attorney for My Pages for individuals with an electronic ID

Individuals can grant others access through a power of attorney in a few simple steps on Ísland.is:

  1. Sign in to My Pages using your personal electronic ID.
  2. Select access control.
  3. The platform lets you choose who receives access, what they can view, and for how long.

The authorized representative can then sign in on behalf of the granter.

Power of attorney for My Pages for individuals without an electronic ID

People without an electronic ID can register an authorized representative to handle matters on their behalf. This representative can then sign in to My Pages and view the data covered under the authorization. 

Note that this authorization grants full access to digital services through the Ísland.is power of attorney system. It does not grant access to outside services or systems.

Only individuals can grant power of attorney to other people on paper — this application is not for businesses.

Paper power of attorney form

You can apply in a few simple steps:

1.    Print the power of attorney form for individuals.
2.    Complete all fields on the form — write names and ID numbers in block letters.
3.    Have two witnesses sign the form (if the witnesses are foreign nationals, submit a copy of their ID with the document).
4.    Scan or photograph the completed form.
5.    The intended authorized representative submits the document to Ísland.is through the application.
