New Year's Poetry

FROM SUNRISE TO SUNSET

GRÖNDALSHÚS, JANUARY 1, 2023

On New Year's Day, there will be a continuous poetry program at Gröndalshús from sunrise to sunset.

Seven poets will read, recite, and perform without cease from 10am to 5pm.

Everyone is welcome to Benedikt's house to listen, enjoy a cup of coffee, or have a gingerbread cookie, and you can also watch the program streamed live on the website.

It is the sixth time the New Year is welcomed with a poetry reading in this manner. New Year’s Poetry (I. Árljóð) at Gröndalshús have become a New Year's tradition for many poetry enthusiasts, as there is hardly anything more beneficial for modern people than to receive an infusion of poetry on this special day when everything begins anew.

The curators are Kristín Ómarsdóttir and Ragnar Helgi Ólafsson.
