Twelfth Night bonfire at Gufunesbær

Bonfire to bid farewell to Christmas

One bonfire will be held in Reykjavík on Twelfth Night, tomorrow Tuesday, Jan. 6.

On Twelfth Night, Candle-Stealer, the last of the Yule Lads, leaves populated areas to return to the mountains, marking the end of Christmas.

Christmas will be bid farewell with a Twelfth Night bonfire at Gufunesbær, with the program starting at 6pm. Yule Lads will appear at the location.

Jón Jónsson, musician, will perform music from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The festivities end with fireworks at 11 p.m.

Guests are asked to arrive on time. Parking is available at Rimaskóli and Gylfaflöt, with walking access to Gufunesbær.

Everyone is welcome.

There will be no Twelfth Night bonfire at Ægisíða this year.
