Successful flea market and pony rides at Tjörn
Parents and teachers at Tjörn Preschool hosted a flea market on Tuesday afternoon in exceptionally fine weather. Earlier in the day, the excitement was just as high when Krakkahestar, a children's pony program, arrived on the grounds and gave the children a chance to ride. Children and teachers from Öldukot, the preschool's other location, also came out to join the day's activities.
Children took an active role in trading
The flea market was a great success, bringing plenty of joy to visitors and children alike as the children enthusiastically took part in buying and selling. Organizers promoted the market on social media and at several locations around the neighborhood, including Kjötborg, the Vesturbær swimming pool, and Pétursbúð. The event strongly reflected the community spirit surrounding Tjörn Preschool and highlighted the importance of collaboration among parents, children, and staff.
Bargaining and trading
The atmosphere at the market was lively and full of learning. Children tried their hand at real-world commerce by handling money, bargaining, and trading goods. The experience proved both fun and educational, giving children a hands-on introduction to basic financial concepts and social skills through play.
The Tjörn parent association has already expressed interest in hosting another flea market soon—either this summer or around the preschool's next professional development day. Yesterday's success suggests that events like this are on track to become a regular part of the association's calendar.
