Brúarskóli charity run supports the development of Bryndísarhlíð
This morning, Brúarskóli hosted a special charity run, bringing students and staff together under the theme "Knights of Love."
Participants logged a total of 226 kilometers
The goal was to cover 200 kilometers collectively while raising awareness for a vital cause—and participants surpassed that mark, logging 226 kilometers in total. The run supported the Bryndís Klara Memorial Fund and the development of Bryndísarhlíð, a future trauma and violence support center for children and young people. A record-breaking 435,000 króna has been raised so far, and anyone who wishes to contribute can still do so.

A show of solidarity and a reminder of the importance of compassion
The project aims to strengthen safety, welfare, and services for children who have experienced trauma or violence. By participating, students and staff sought to make a difference, show solidarity, and underscore the values of compassion and empathy.
Joy, positivity, and a strong sense of togetherness defined the day, with participants cheering each other on throughout. The event also welcomed spectators to watch and cheer on the runners, adding to the lively atmosphere.
The charity run is a testament to how a school community can come together and make a real impact—both by supporting a crucial cause and by fostering values like empathy, responsibility, and solidarity.
