Joy always takes center stage at the ÍR New Year's Eve Run, no matter the weather, and in addition to traditional running gear, many participants show up in costumes. The run starts at 12 noon and timing ends at 1:30 p.m.
The starting line is on the southern lane of Sæbraut in front of Harpa. The finish line is on the plaza in front of Harpa. Sæbraut is expected to be closed at 10:30am and reopened around 1:30pm. The fun run starts 5-7 minutes after the 10K run begins and follows the same route. The fun run has no additional impact on closures or signage beyond the 10K run. Traffic will be restricted, with temporary closures on some streets and in designated areas, while the run is underway.
