Drawing of the Fossvogur Bridge

Construction for the Fossvogur Bridge has begun, with land reclamation and coastal protection work starting on the Reykjavík side in the coming days. Construction started at Kársnes in Kópavogur in January. Efforts are being made to minimize disruption from the construction, but large vehicle traffic will temporarily cross walking and cycling paths at one location. The paths will remain open at all times.

The work area in the sea has been cordoned off with buoys, and swimming or sailing within this area is prohibited. Outside this area, swimmers and sailors can continue their activities as usual.

An information page about the development has been created and will be regularly updated. Additionally, information signs will be placed in the area.
