Leikskólalóðirnar sem um ræðir eru við Suðurborg (phase 2) and Borg-Arnarborg, and the primary school grounds at Borgaskóli (phase 2).

Redeveloping these grounds entails a complete redesign and rebuild from the ground up. These projects are often completed in multiple phases.

Significant improvements will also be made to the grounds of Berg preschool, and the basketball court at Hlíðaskóli will be resurfaced.

The estimated cost is 150 million króna. Construction is expected to begin in May and conclude by October 2024.

Play area redevelopment in Breiðholt

The City Council has authorized the Environment and Planning Department to open bidding for these redevelopment projects.

Three play areas in Breiðholt will be redeveloped: Krummahólar, Vesturberg, and Bakkasel.

Surfaces will be renewed—replacing pea gravel with paving, grass, and artificial turf—and play equipment will be replaced as needed. Ensuring the play areas are accessible to everyone is a priority, and lighting will be upgraded where necessary.

The estimated cost for this work is 50 million króna. Construction is scheduled to begin in early May and conclude in September 2024.
