Renovation of the lower floor of Langholtsskóli's C wing is complete and school operations have resumed there. Students and teachers are very pleased with the changes, which were designed to bring the facility in line with modern teaching methods.

Bright space with good acoustics

After water was discovered running under the wing, extensive construction became necessary. Floors had to be torn up, drainage redesigned and wells added to capture the water. The redesign included changes that bring light into the hallway, better access to restrooms that were previously accessed through classrooms, and improved accessibility overall. Additionally, windows were extended and openable doors to the school grounds were installed. The changes mean that the space, which previously felt like a basement, is now open and bright.

The lighting and acoustics on the floor are now excellent, greatly improving the work environment. All equipment is new in the five classrooms, teacher desks are height-adjustable, screens are new and support the use of the latest technology in teaching.
