An extensive collection of artifacts from the history of cycling in Iceland is on display in the Tjarnarsalur at City Hall from Monday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 22. The exhibit is part of European Mobility Week 2024.
Visitors can view the display daily until 6 p.m. at City Hall through Sept. 22. The showcase features a broad selection of unusual and fascinating bicycles from different eras. Informational labels accompany every bike.
Admission is free, and organizers encourage guests to arrive by bike, on foot, or by city bus.
Bike parking is available at the building entrances and in the underground garage.
Cycling enthusiasts provided the bicycles and organized the exhibit in partnership with Reykjavík City.
Beyond the bicycles, the exhibition features a projected photo slideshow of biking paths across the capital area, alongside a panel display from the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration.
