Operating permit notices

According to Article 6 of Regulation No. 550/2018 on emissions from industrial activities and pollution control, public health authorities must advertise the receipt, proposal, and issuance of operating permits for activities covered by the regulation and issued by the Public Health Committee, cf. Annex X of the regulation.

The advertising period is four weeks and will be specified in the advertisement for each operating permit.

The advertisement includes the proposed operating permit conditions and attachments as applicable. During the advertising period, anyone can comment on the proposal. Comments should be sent in writing to heilbrigdiseftirlit@reykjavik.is or to Reykjavík Public Health, Borgartún 12-14, 105 Reykjavík.

Reykjavík Public Health decides on issuing the operating permit within four weeks after the comment period ends. Applicants and those who commented can request justification for the decision and may appeal the decision to issue an operating permit to the environmental and natural resource appeals board.
