The Department of Health announces the receipt of applications for work permits, a proposal for a work permit and the issuance of work permits for polluting activities.
Pursuant to Art. 6 of Decree no. 550/2018 on emissions from occupational activities and pollution control, the health inspectorate is required to advertise the receipt, proposal and issuance of the work permit for the activities covered by the regulation and the health committee issues the work permit for the activities, cf. See Annex X. of the Regulation.
The advertisement will include a proposal for work permit conditions and documentation attached to the application as applicable from time to time. During commercial time, anyone may provide comments on the proposal. Comments should be sent in writing to health firstname.lastname@example.org or to the Health Department, Borgartún 12-14, 105 Reykjavík.
Within four weeks of the deadline for submission of comments on a proposal, the Directorate-General for Health and Consumer Protection will decide on the issue of a work permit. The applicant and those who made observations may require justification of the decision, but the decision to issue a work permit may also be referred to the Committee on the Environment and Resources.
