Operating permit proposal - University of Iceland

Reykjavík Public Health has prepared operating permit proposals for the University of Iceland at the following locations:

  • VR 1-3 at Hjarðarhagi 2-6 and the Natural Science Institute of the University of Iceland at Dunhagi 5 for the renewal of operating permit. This concerns higher education activities and storage of gas and other hazardous substances as referred to in item 38 of Annex IV of Act No. 7/1998 on Hygiene and Pollution Prevention. The proposal recommends that the activities should comply with coordinated operating conditions for colleges and universities and the general operating conditions of the Reykjavík Public Health Committee for polluting operations. The proposed validity period is 12 years.
  • Skipholt 37 for the renewal of the operating permit. This concerns higher education activities and storage of gas and other hazardous substances as referred to in item 38 of Annex IV of Act No. 7/1998 on Hygiene and Pollution Prevention. The proposal recommends that the activities should comply with coordinated operating conditions for colleges and universities and the general operating conditions of the Reykjavík Public Health Committee for polluting operations. The proposed validity period is 12 years.
  • Stapi, Hringbraut 29 for the renewal of the operating permit. This concerns higher education activities and storage of gas and other hazardous substances as referred to in item 38 of Annex IV of Act No. 7/1998 on Hygiene and Pollution Prevention. The proposal recommends that the activities should comply with coordinated operating conditions for colleges and universities and the general operating conditions of the Reykjavík Public Health Committee for polluting operations. The proposed validity period is 12 years
  • Læknagarður at Vatnsmýrarvegur 16 for the renewal of the operating permit. This concerns higher education activities, storage of gas and other dangerous substances, operations that use cooling systems containing fluorinated greenhouse gases or ozone-depleting substances, as well as the servicing of those systems. The proposal recommends that the activities comply with coordinated conditions for colleges and universities, general conditions of the Reykjavík Public Health Committee for polluting operations, and conditions for operations using cooling systems that contain fluorinated greenhouse gases or ozone-depleting substances, as well as the servicing of those systems. The proposed validity period is 12 years.
  • The Askja Natural Sciences Building at Sturlugata 7 for the renewal of operating permit. This concerns higher education activities, storage of gas and other dangerous substances, operations that use cooling systems containing fluorinated greenhouse gases or ozone-depleting substances, as well as the servicing of those systems. The proposal recommends that the activities comply with coordinated conditions for colleges and universities, general conditions of the Reykjavík Public Health Committee for polluting operations, and conditions for operations using cooling systems that contain fluorinated greenhouse gases or ozone-depleting substances, as well as the servicing of those systems. The proposed validity period is 12 years.
  • Hagi Hofsvallagata 53 and Neshagi 16 for the renewal of the operating permit. The operation is concerned with higher-level educational activities and storage of gas and other dangerous substances as per item 38 of Appendix IV of Act No. 7/1998 on Hygiene and Pollution Prevention, and an oil tank for own use at Neshagi 16. The proposal recommends that the activities should comply with coordinated operating conditions for colleges and universities and the general operating conditions of the Reykjavík Public Health Committee for polluting operations. The proposed validity period is 12 years.

During this period, everyone is welcome to submit comments and suggestions regarding the proposal.
