Intercultural Conference of Reykjavík City

The Intercultural Conference offers a unique platform for people of diverse backgrounds to come together and share their knowledge, have lively discussions, and enjoy the day together. The Conferences’ objectives are communication, democracy, and attitudes.

Reykjavík City ‘s Intercultural Conference will take place at Hitt Húsið on the 4th of May 2024. 

The Conference is an essential forum for active discussion regarding people of foreign origin and immigrants in Reykjavík. Reykjavik City is an intercultural city, and 25% of its residents are of foreign origin.

Language, literature, and inclusion will be a focal point at the Intercultural Conference. For the first time at the Conference, a seminar for youth to discuss the experiences of youth and ethnic minority backgrounds takes place.

Registration for each seminar is required. By clicking on the title of the seminar, the registration opens.

Program

10am - 11am - Opening session

  • Projects from the intercultural city of Reykjavík will be showcased.

11:30am - 12:15pm - Seminars

12:15pm-12:45pm 

  • Light refreshments from Á Bístró.

12:45pm - 1:30pm - Seminars

2:15pm - 3pm - Panel discussion

3pm - Closing session
