Primary school meals

Most primary school students take part in the lunch program. The cost of school meals is the same at all schools. And, you do not need to pay for school lunch for more than two children from the same household.

About Sæmundarskóli

At Sæmundarskóli, 490 students and approximately 80 staff members work together under the guiding principles of Joy – Respect – Cooperation. School operations at Sæmundarskóli commenced in the Sæmundarsel building near Ingunnarskóli in 2004. Selið then became an independent school at the turn of the year 2006-2007 and was named Sæmundarskóli after the famed scholar Sæmundur the Wise. The school occupies a modern, magnificent building, which officially opened for use in the fall of 2011.

Fjósið After-School Program is for children in 1st to 4th grade at Sæmundarskóli, and Fókus Youth Center offers a variety of fun activities for children and adolescents.

Child prosperity

The Act on the Integration of Services in the Interest of Children’s Prosperity has come into effect. The goal is to ensure children and guardians receive the right assistance, at the right time, from the right parties. Families and children in need of early support have guaranteed access to a contact person in the child's immediate environment, such as in preschool or primary school. The contact person offers information and guidance on services and ensures that children and guardians have unhindered access to these services. Children, youth, and guardians can contact the school contact person to request integrated services.

The contact person for Sæmundarskóli is: Guðrún Anna Gunnarsdóttir
