Strætó Public Transport is a regional partnership for public transportation in the capital area, operating under a foundation agreement dated May 7, 2001.
Members include Reykjavík City, Garðabær, Hafnarfjörður, Kópavogur, Mosfellsbær, Seltjarnarnes, and the Municipality of Álftanes.
The Board of the regional partnership is composed of one representative and one alternate from each member municipality, who must be a member of the respective municipal council or the executive director of the municipality. Alternates are appointed in the same manner.
The chairmanship rotates among the member municipalities. The Board's term of office coincides with the term of the municipal council. The headquarters of Strætó bs. is located at Þönglabakki 4.
