Hinsegin málefni

Í mannréttindastefnu Reykjavíkurborgar kemur fram að óheimilt er að mismuna fólki vegna kyns, kynhneigðar, kynvitundar, kyntjáningar eða kyneinkenna. Ekki skal ganga út frá því að allt fólk sé gagnkynhneigt og sís, meðal starfsfólks, þjónustuþega, í uppeldis- og tómstundastarfi, menntunar og menningarstarfi. Í aðgerðaráætlun í mannréttinda- og lýðræðismálum 2019-2023 má sjá verkefni sem varða hinsegin málefni.
Regnbogavottun Reykjavíkurborgar
Allir starfsstaðir Reykjavíkurborgar geta fengið regnbogavottun. Til þess að fá vottunina þarf starfsfólk að taka þátt í fræðslu um hinsegin málefni og rýna þjónustuna sem veitt er á starfsstaðnum. Að auki þarf að útbúa aðgerðaráætlun í þeim tilgangi að gera starfsstaðinn hinseginvænni.
Trans börn og skólar
Trans börn koma nú út bæði yngri og í meira mæli en áður og eru skólar sífellt að reka sig á það að vera ekki undir það búnir. Á þessari síðu hafa verið teknar saman upplýsingar um trans börn ásamt tvenns konar gátlistum, annars vegar fyrir skóla þar sem barn hefur nýlega komið út sem trans eða er að hefja nám við skólann, og hins vegar fyrir skóla sem vilja verða 'trans-vænir' óháð því hvort að þar séu trans nemendur. Einnig hefur verið útbúin stuðningsáætlun fyrir trans nemendur.
Hinsegin börn og skólar
Það eru hinsegin börn í öllum skólum og eru þau alls konar, rétt eins og önnur börn. Hinsegin börn eiga það þó sameiginlegt að falla út fyrir það sem telst normið hvað varðar kynhneigð, kyntjáningu, kyneinkenni og/eða kynvitund. Projects
Here are some of the activities that the Office has undertaken that address LGBTI issues:
- The CoR's Rainbow Certification, an educational and information package aimed at making CoR activities more decentralised, both for staff and service providers.
- The Office for Human Rights and Democracy prepared checklists and compiled materials on LGBTI rights in schools and trans LGBTI rights in schools for both kindergarten and primary schools, while maintaining knowledge of LGBTI status and needs.
- In 2019, the CoR became a member of the Rainbow Cities Network, a platform for cities working on LGBT issues. Its goals are to share experiences and knowledge, work together, learn from each other, and build relationships.
- In 2017, a team was set up on behalf of the Together Against Violence project to produce a report on the situation of LGBT persons and domestic violence. The team's report was released in 2018 and the recommendations contained therein have been used to track domestic violence suffered by LGBT people.
The CoR and the Organization '78
The
CoR and the Association '78 concluded a partnership agreement in 2021 for a period of three years. The organisation '78 commits itself to services for LGBTI youth in Reykjavik, which include LGBTI education for children and youth in the city's school and recreational activities. It also includes cooperation in the operation of the Pond at the LGBTI community centre for youth. It is possible to request education from the Association '78 for students, but it is free of charge. You request the training on the organisation's website.
There is also a clause in the agreement for the provision of LGBTI education by the association' 78 to sports federations within the CoR.

Human Rights and Democracy Bureau
- In 2021, a study was conducted on Teaching Materials for Gender and Heterosexuality in Kindergarten and Primary Education supported by the Student Innovation Fund.
- In 2021, the CoR published a brochure with guidance and information on how to respond to questions about transgender people in gender-sensitive spaces, in Icelandic and English. The brochure was also published in Icelandic and Polish.
- In 2020, the CoR and the '78 Foundation published an updated version of the' What is LGBTI? 'brochure, available in both Icelandic and English, but also in Polish: Co to jest Queer?
- In 2019, the booklet LGBTQ and Domestic Violence, which is part of the Together Against Violence project, was published.
- In 2015, a study was carried out on LGBTI sexual education in the CoR's primary schools, the dick will find you: Heterosexuality, Elementary School and LGBTI Sex Education
