Borgarstjóri sendir samúðarskeyti til borgarstjóra Manchester
Dagur B. Eggertsson, borgarstjóri í Reykjavík, hefur sent Andy Burnham, borgarstjóra í Manchester, samúðarskeyti vegna sprengjuárásarinnar í borginni í gærkvöldi þar sem fjöldi fólk lést eða slasaðist alvarlega.
Skeytið er svohljóðandi:
Dear Mayor Burnham,
On behalf of the people of Reykjavík, I offer my sincere condolences on the tragic loss of life in the horrific attack last night.
We must stand together for free and just, democratic and tolerant communities, where everyone can flourish on their own terms – and against senseless acts of hatred and violence, as we witnessed in Manchester.
Our hearts go out to the victims of the attack, their families and friends, and the entire community of Manchester.
