This summer a diverse selection of entertainment and education will be available for children and youth in Reykjavik.
Information about summer activities may be found on the leisure activity website www.fristund.is that is on the activities offered by leisure centres, sailing courses, summer camps, sport courses, riding lessons and a lot of other available activities.
Registration
Registration for the summer activities of the leisure centres (summer leisure), specialized leisure centre activities, sailing courses in Siglunes and the animal course at the Reykjavik Park and Zoo starts Monday the 25th of April at 8:20 but registration for summer workshops for children finishing the 5-7th grades starts the 18th of May.

Registration for summer activities through Reykjavík City is through sumar.fristund.is. Registration for the leisure centre summer activities, specialized leisure centre activities and a sailing course must be registered before 12:00 on Fridays if the child is to start the course the following
Monday. Registration for the animal course must take place on Wednesday in the week before the course begins. Parents are reminded of registering their children in time since the courses can fill up quickly.
If parents are not able to utilize the electronic registration they can visit the cities leisure centres (preferably before noon) and get assistance with registration. It is not possible to register children in Reykjavík’s summer leisure through the phone but it is possible to seek guidance over the phone at the cities service desk at 411 1111 if parents are sitting by the computer which is connected to the internet.
Registration for summer leisure activities of other parties are processed at each association.
