Arnfinnur Amazeen opens his art exhibition Subselves Mean Well in Gallery D at Hafnarhús Reykjavik Art Museum on Thursday 12 May at 17 p.m. Arnfinnur (b. 1977) is the third artist to exhibit in Gallery D in the year 2016. In his practice he examines the monotonous round of everyday life and the contradictory role of the person within.

Arnfinnur completed a MFA degree from Glasgow School of Art in 2006 and BA degree from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts in 2001. Recent solo exhibitions are "Kollektive" in Grafikernes Hus, "Self" in Værelse 101 in Copenhagen and "Myrkrið borið inn (á ný)" in Kling og Bang Reykjavík. His last solo exhibiton in Iceland was "Gríman er andlitið" in Kunstschlager in 2014. Arnfinnur lives and works in Copenhagen.

Exhibitions in Gallery D at Hafnarhús focus primarily on artists who have not previously held one-person shows in Iceland’s major galleries. The objective of the exhibition series is to offer promising artists the chance to work on their own terms in a public gallery, and to draw the attention of museum visitors to new and interesting developments in the art world.
